As of Monday, Google Summer of Code, 2026 edition, has been in its hot phase!
We’re proud to be able to mentor three students this year, which are, in alphabetical order,
- Sayantan Maity, who tackles Hardware in the loop CI, mentored by Cyrille Morin and aided by me, Marcus Müller
- Youssef Mahmoud, who’s working on the project Graphical interoperability between CyberEther and GNU Radio, mentored by Luigi Cruz and HÃ¥kon VÃ¥gsether
- Ziad Haithem Fahmy, creating an OOT Module for web-based monitoring of running flow graphs in GNU Radio 4, whose mentors are Cyrille and Josh Morman
We’re very excited that we have these topics worked on - they target long-lived improvements to the ecosystem.
Sadly, we could not get enough “slots” within the GSoC project to fit each of the great proposals we’ve gotten! We feel honored by the amount of attention GNU Radio has garnered this year!
So, please do reach out on chat to ask plenty about the projects! You’ll find regular updates on the blogs linked above.
